Sajid Sheikh was born in Dharni (Melghat Tiger Project) District - Amravati, Maharashtra, India on 3 January 1962. Sajid is the third child of (Landowner/Entrepreneur) Abdul Wahid Sheikh and Fasiha Sheikh. He shared his fathers' passion for Indian cinema from an early age and spent much of his childhood years enjoying cinema at Melghat Talkies, one of his fathers' commercial establishments. Although, never being allowed to neglect his academic studies Sajid is a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Commerce (B.Com) from Nagpur University . Sajid currently successfully runs his own Law Firm established in 1996 in London ( www.sheikh-law.co.uk ).

During his college years Sajid participated and won a number of trophies in debate and elocution competitions held at State and National Levels throughout India. He was able to achieve vast experience and confidence in public speaking. He also gained essential training in acting and vocal skills and other aspects of theatre production and direction techniques. Sajid successfully produced, directed and acted in a variety of Hindi, Urdu, English and Marathi Dramas. This allowed him to have valuable experience in theatre direction, live performance and take an active part in several of the theatre stage performances. His roles were varied and vast including parts of hero, villain and comedian to mention a few.

Sajid married his childhood love Shahista in October 1987, she is his constant source of inspiration, support and critic. They have one son Saif Mikail Sheikh born in November 1990, who is already aspiring to follow his fathers' creative and academic talents.

Sajid has maintained close ties with family and friends in his homeland and regularly visits India for business and social events.
